With Pancake Day {i.e. Shrove Tuesday} right around the corner, and London being a foodie’s dream city, I figured some of you might be wondering where to find the best pancakes in London. That’s why I put together a post specifically for the upcoming “holiday” so that you would be able to easily navigate London and all the short stack bliss that awaits.

I’ve eaten everywhere mentioned in this post , so trust me when I say these pancake spots are extra ‘yum’ and that every eatery listed was selected after thorough research {i.e. I ate a lot for the cause}. Some of these places are having specials on for Pancake Day, so click through to their websites so that you can get your full money’s worth.

The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is one of my favourite little breakfast-for-dinner spots thanks to its hidden speakeasy! Head towards the SMEG refrigerator and say the password to a member of the staff to be let down into the hidden bar {it’s rumoured that Prince Harry has come for drinks here}.

Drunch London

Drunch London is a brunch specific restaurant that serves up some fluffy fat stacks of pancakes. There are two locations: Regent’s Park and Mayfair. I believe the Mayfair location is prettier, but the menus are the same so you won’t miss out on pancakes at either spot. Drunch is kind of known for its late-night shisha, but I’ve never been into that so I don’t really have any opinions.

WAVE {we are vegan everything}

Vegans don’t need to miss out on pancake day thanks to WAVE, which stands for We Are Vegan Everything. Their menu offers vegans a delicious taste of flapjacks minus any FOMO {fear of missing out}, because they are just as delectable {if not more so} than the non-vegan version. WAVE also hosts weekly events and daily yoga classes, so hop into a class and treat yourself to brunch once the café opens at 9AM.

Cambridge Street

Cambridge Street is a beautiful breakfast and brunch restaurant that also serves as a workspace. I’ve had both the smashed avocado and the pancake stack, but the platter hits the spot with its cinnamon, apples, vanilla cream, and mixed berries. Need any more convincing? I didn’t think so.

The Diner

The Diner is the place to go if you’re looking for a classic, American-style pancake cook-up. The Diner serves breakfast all day long and there are multiple locations across London including Soho, Camden, Shoreditch, and Spitalfields.

Granger + Co

Want to mix things up? Head to one of London’s many Granger + Co. locations for ricotta pancakes with banana and honeycomb butter. While these sweet starts to your morning are delicious, they will set you back £13.20. Luckily, you’ll be enjoying your ‘cakes in a beautiful, Instagram-friendly café.

Where the Pancakes Are

Where The Pancakes Are have a simple philosophy: that menus don’t have to be complicated and that certain foods trigger happy memories. For the owners of this eatery, those happy memories were associated with pancakes and late night diners serving up pancakes off hot grills. Unfortunately, IHOPs and Waffle Houses aren’t really a thing here in London. Where The Pancakes Are changed the game by creating a place that serves its guests nutritious buttermilk pancakes in a variety of sweet or savoury ways. WTPA has brought yummy pancakes to London with a beautiful café atmosphere to boot {much better than a Waffle House in terms of taste and aesthetic, I promise}.

Christopher’s

Christopher’s gives you the option to build your own pancakes. You’re given a pencil, a sheet of paper, and a long list of choices, you can pick which toppings you want to add to your breakfast-time, pancake creation. As an added bonus, you’ll be eating right in the heart of Covent Garden.

Osu Coconut at Broadway Market

Osu Coconut use coconut water as their secret weapon when making their seriously yummy vegan and gluten-free pancakes. Eating pancakes has never felt as guilt-free as it does at the Osu Coconut stand in East London’s Broadway Market. It almost makes you feel healthy, aye?

El&n café

At two of their locations, and only for Pancake Day, the Instagram-famous EL&N Café is serving up stacks of delicious carb-y goodness. The millennial pink cafés are filled with flowers, velvet furniture, and heart-shaped decor. It’s these touches that make Pancake Day feel somewhat feminine and romantic if you celebrate at EL&N.
