I'm Tara.

I'm just a silly little girl who likes to go places and tell her silly little stories.

SLK documents the adventures I've had across 5 continents & who I've become on my journeys.

Christophe Chocolatier

Christophe Chocolatier

The same day I wore my little yellow dress out, I stumbled upon Christophe Chocolatier. This chocolatier is a tiny shop filled with decedent French desserts and delicious coffee. Christophe Paume is a third-generation chocolatier. He grew up in his father's pâtisserie in France, but now lives in Charleston with his wife. Together, they own the little lavender shop!

It's always been a top priority of mine to enjoy the tiny treasures of every place I land. Locally-owned and off-the-beaten path should be my middle name. I eat all that shit right up. Why go to a place if you don't experience it like a local would? Sure, seeing major landmarks is always a priority. But gems like Christophe Chocolatier might be missed if you only stopped by your local Starbucks, ya know?

I realized on the drive back home that I had stepped into Christophe's previously with someone else. Funny that, aye? How could I forget?

The macarons and iced green tea are both solid choices. Their specialities are hand-painted chocolates and truffles. Staff are super friendly and greet you with big smiles as soon as you step into the shop. Christophe's keeps their selection small to maintain a 'quality over quantity' philosophy I sooo get {always trying to live that life}. They do, however, offer online orders and dessert catering for special events.

Indulge your inner sweet tooth at Christophe Chocolatier here.
