Ljubljana is the most charming and quaint European capital you may never have considered traveling to and probably don’t know how to pronounce {it’s lube-lee-ana, in case you’re curious}. It’s also been voted the “Greenest Capital City” in Europe beating out all the usual Scandinavian cities. For these two reasons alone, it was one of my favourite city destinations in Europe for responsible travelers looking to make positive travel choices.
